Yeah, neither the House nor the Senate will Accept any EPA riders, America
Dear Kevin,
Yesterday, nearly 25,000 of you sent a message to President Obama and Senate Majority Leader Reid urging them to continue fighting for clean air and oppose any measures in the spending bill that block, weaken or delay the EPA.
Your message was received – LOUD and CLEAR!
Today, Majority Leader Reid said, “Neither the White House or the Senate leaders is going to accept any EPA riders.”
Your collective voices helped ensure that our environmental champions in the Senate stood strong in the face of relentless attacks on the EPA from corporate polluters and their congressional allies. We applaud Majority Leader Reid and other Senate champions for standing tall.
But this fight is not yet over. Big Oil, Dirty Coal and other dirty energy interests are still pushing for anti-environment provisions in the spending bill and in other legislation. We still expect votes in the Senate next week on amendments to gut the EPA.
We’re not going to stop fighting polluters’ attacks – and we need to make sure we have Majority Leader Reid's back. That’s why we’re launching an aggressive campaign over the next three weeks. We’re going to run radio ads and engage in other media outreach in key states – thanking those lawmakers who are fighting for clean air and calling out those lawmakers who side with big polluters. We’re also mobilizing volunteers in targeted congressional districts to attend town hall meetings, make phone calls, and submit letters-to-the-editor.
Donate now to LCV. Help us beat back attempts to rollback vital clean air protections.
As big polluters and their friends in the House and Senate escalate their assaults on important clean air safeguards, we must counter each and every attack. Your support right now will make the difference.
Please make a donation today.
Sincerely,
