The Bahrain government has raised its head as a thug once again and Democracy Now has the story half-way balanced
While I think the news coming out of Bahrain is one-sided. For example, little was said on Democracy Now, Al-Jazeera about thousands of foreigners working in Bahrain being told (1) they couldn’t be treated at hospitals for beatings by either Shia or Sunni thugs and (2) that their children and teachers could not go to school or they would be physically attacked for breaking the strike on education by Shia groups.
Nonetheless, the Bahrain government has raised its head as a thug once again and Democracy Now has the story half-way balanced. (Listen to it online).–KAS

One month into the pro-democracy uprising in the small Gulf state of Bahrain — where the U.S. Navy’s 5th Fleet is based, tasked with protecting “U.S. interests” — Bahrainis are suffering the same violent repression as Libyans. So why does Obama have nothing to say?
