Dear America,

meeting millionaires
This weekend I met some young turk web millionaires– the people who fight so hard to block tax increases on the rich. They’ve figured out how to use the web to make a lot of money. That’s a web developed by government funds.
Having met them, it convinces me more than ever that we should go back to the taxes that existed under Dwight Eisenhower– 91-92% on the highest earners. It was 70% under Nixon and 50% under Reagan. Now, with the Bush tax cuts, it’s around 35%.
i say ramp them back up to Eisenhower levels.
These wealthy greedy, selfish people who repeatedly cited Ayn Rand (a writer for college students who have not yet matured into grown ups) are starving our schools, our commons, letting our infrastructure fall apart, allowing the US fall dangerously far behind in so many ways. They are ENEMIES of America’s future. There are wealthy people who do good, who support visionary , future-supporting policies. Not all of the wealthy are greedy or against the middle class, or a bright American future. But the Kochs and their kind are dangerous to democracy, to our children’s futures.
We need to work together to fight this short sighted, selfish greed. OEN does it every day. We do it with the help of generous supporters who believe in our work and show it by making tax deductible donations. Can you join in?

Thanks,
rob kall
