NO MORE NUKES, Senators Isakson and Corker!
Dear Kevin,
70.000 people were killed after the throwing of second atomic bomb over Nagasaki in 1945.
We can all agree that reducing the number of nuclear arms in the world is a good thing. But the historic START treaty that has reduced the number of nuclear warheads and maintained nuclear stability since the end of the Cold War expired last December, and its replacement, New START, has stalled in the Senate.
Enough with partisan politics; let’s tell Congress to restart START! The first step is to pass New START out of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee with bipartisan support. We need your help to convince Republican Senators Johnny Isakson and Bob Corker to vote for it.
Action 1
If you’re on Facebook, please post the following message on Sens. Isakson’s and Corker’s walls:
Message:
George Schultz, secretary of state under President Reagan, said it clearly: “The Senate should promptly vote to approve the New Strategic Arms Reductions Treaty (New START) with Russia for one reason: It increases U.S. national security.” Please vote “yes” when New START comes up for a vote in the Foreign Relations Committee and on the Senate floor.
