Developed and taught grammar, reading and writing courses--whereby internet, video, and CALL were integrated into the classroom and homework of my students. Carried out my duties as section planner, on committees, in staff development, in volunteering to substitute teacher, student evaluation, and the activities related to student level placement at the English Language Center.

March 1997-December 1998 Intensive English Language Instructor and Adjunct ESL Instructor for the Italian NATO Air Force Pilot/Instructor Program at the Intensive English Language Institute, Midwestern State University, Wichita Falls, Texas. Taught all levels of speaking and listening, the higher levels of writing and reading, and all levels of grammar courses as well as specialized courses on American film, idioms, TOEFL preparation, and world issues. Also presented to colleagues on subjects, such as testing and on the use of film in developing curricula.

January 1997 Intensive Intermediate and Advanced Writing & Reading Instructor for the one month winter term at the Intensive English Program on the campus of the University of California at Riverside, Riverside, California.

September 1995-August 1996 United States Information Agency English Teaching Fellow: Tester, Trainer, and Teacher in Managua, Nicaragua at the Centro Cultural Nicaraguense Norteamericana, at the Universidad Centro America, at the American School's Intensive English Program, and for the Asociacion Nicaraguense de Profesores de Ingles. Taught all levels of intensive programs as well as regular university reading, writing, and literature programs as well as global issues classes. Also, presented at international TESOL workshops in both Nicaragua and Costa Rica and gave intensive English language and methods courses to primary and secondary teachers of English. In addition, tested applicants English for the Fulbright Exchange.

July 1992-July 1994 Japanese Exchange Teacher in Niigata Prefecture, Japan in and around Itoigawa City at Itoigawa Koko, Itoigawa Technical and Commercial High School, and Nou Fisheries High School. Team-taught lessons with over 20 colleagues every semester, led language clubs, created and conducted language contests, gave teacher training and cultural workshops. Additionally, was active in international exchange activities and in publishing in national and in regional academic journals.

August 1991-January 1992 Spanish and German Instructor at Eudora High School in Eudora, Kansas--taught Spanish and German as well as planning language club activities and preparing a trip to Europe for the ten students in the school.

August 1990-May 1991 German Instructor at Great Bend High School, Great Bend, Kansas. Taught German and ran the large exchange program involving over 20 students between this same Kansas high school and a Gymnasium high school in Villengen-Schwenningen, Germany.

November 1986-March 1990 English Language Instructor as well as English for Special Purposes Instructor at the Bergische Universitaet in Wuppertal, Germany. Taught once a week several conversation and grammar English courses to non-English majors through the Audio-Media Zentrum and taught English for Special Purposes ( for Mathematicians, Electrical Engineers, Physicists, Social Scientists, and Economists) through the Bruekungskurse Department at the same university.

January 1987-March 1990 English Language Instructor for the Elberfelder Volkshochscule, a continuing adult education program. Taught all 15 levels of beginner, intermediate, and advanced courses in English. Also conducted a global issues course weekly for six semesters.
